Lung Modelling Group

At the Lung Modelling Group in University of Manchester we are developing computational models that mimic lung function in health and disease.

Our primary focus is developing whole-organ models of airflow, gas and particle transport, and mechanics that are motivated by clinical questions.
We are also applying similar approaches to other medical applications, such as modelling solute transport in the placenta.

This is made possible by working with an interdisciplinary network of collaborators across the UK and overseas.

If you are interesting in collaborating with us, or postgraduate / post-doctorate opportunities in the group, please do contact the group lead Dr Carl Whitfield.
